Prayer is an essential part of our being as Christians. It can take many forms and take place anywhere. Besides being an integral part of our worship services, here are some other opportunities for prayer at Immanuel.
Also known as Silent Preparation for Worship, meets each Sunday morning in the chapel from 10:10 to 10:25am, before our 10:30am Holy Communion service. A leader begins the time with a Psalm and then those gathered continue with a time of meditation. You are welcome to drop by for any portion of the time that you are able. Everyone is welcome to come and share these moments of peaceful preparation for our community worship.
Third Saturday Morning Prayer Circle
This group is grounded in Christianity’s contemplative tradition. The group meets the third Saturday of each month from 10:30-11:30am in the chapel. Participants are invited to share in facilitating the sessions.
The Immanuel Prayer Chain- “David’s Chain”
With David’s Chain you can sign up to be a part of a call list or an email list. People are prayed for when requested or identified by the church staff as someone who may need prayers if they give their permission. The confidentiality of the chain means that only the subject of the prayer and the name is shared along the chain. If you would like to join the Prayer Chain, email Janet Bouman at firstname.lastname@example.org or call her at 773-262-7954.
